Audition Notice

Steel Beam Theatre is seeking to cast young actors age 8 -18 for their June 2019 Youth Production Disney's Frozen JR. music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez Book by Jennifer Lee to be directed by Lexi Colatorti, produced by Lori Holm

Frozen JR. is based on the 2018 Broadway musical, and brings Elsa, Anna, and the magical land of Arendelle to life, onstage. The show features all of the memorable songs from the animated film, with music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, plus five new songs written for the Broadway production.

A story of true love and acceptance between sisters, Frozen JR. expands upon the emotional relationship and journey between Princesses Anna and Elsa. When faced with danger, the two discover their hidden potential and the powerful bond of sisterhood. With a cast of beloved characters and loaded with magic, adventure, and plenty of humor, Frozen JR. is sure to thaw even the coldest heart!

Auditions start at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the Steel Beam Theatre, located at 111 West Main Street St Charles, IL 60174 No appointment is necessary. Actors will be seen in the order that they arrive. A free parking garage is available on the South side of the building. You may enter the theatre on the South side through the Plaza.

Actors age 8 -18 auditioning will read sides from the script and should prepare a short song they know well to be sung acapella. Wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move easily. Please bring an acting resume if you have one and also a photo (candid one is acceptable). Information sheets will be provided to fill out at the theatre for those who do not have a resume available. Rehearsals begin the week of May 20th and are held 2-3 times a week depending on availability of actors and necessity. You must be available for all rehearsals through the performances.

Showtimes are:
Friday, June 28 at 7 p.m.
Saturday, June 29 at 12 and 2 p.m.
Sunday June 30th at 2 p.m.

Once casting is complete, youth that have been cast will pay a production-based tuition fee of $250 which is due prior to the first rehearsal date. Financial assistance is available to families in need. To inquire about scholarships please contact Lori Holm via email at
