Winnie the Pooh fans will delight in the Steel Beam Children’s Theatre production of The House at Pooh Corner, which spotlights beloved childhood favorites Pooh, Piglet, Kanga, Roo, Owl and Eeyore and introduces the indispensible character of Tigger.
A.A. Milne’s The House at Pooh Corner was written in 1928 as a sequel to the popular Winnie the Pooh, and is a series of short stories that tell how the friends built a home for Eeyore on Pooh Corner, how they discovered a “Tigger," and in the end, how they must say goodbye to Christopher Robin.
In this Bettye Knapp theatrical adaptation, Christopher Robin and his friends plot their escape from the Hundred Acre Woods when they discover that Christopher will be sent to school. The friends learn that it is better to face the future head-on since there is no escaping the changes that go along with growing up.
Directed by Daina Giesler, a long-time Steel Beam Children’s Theatre director and Artistic Director of the Oswego Playhouse, the cast includes: August Anderson as Tigger; Ashley Bruns as Early Rabbit; Audrey Carberry as Now Rabbit; Natalie Carberry as Head Rabbit; Rhea Chandran as Roo; Celina DiCiaula as Christopher’s Mother; Madeline Farace as Late Rabbit; Beth Kahan as Kanga; Joseph Masini as Owl; Beth Mehl as Eeyore; Rose McCormick as Never Rabbit; Rachel Morano as Piglet; Aidan Morris as Christopher Robin; Julia Rein as Forever Rabbit, and Erin Telfer as Winnie the Pooh.
